At the Saddleworld 2014 Australian Dressage Championships a special award was made for the long standing Event Director Toni Venhaus (left) as she and her Committee step down to take a well earned break.

It is unanimously agreed that Toni has been the driving force behind a super efficient team that has undertaken the running and hosting of this event since the era of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.  The National Dressage Championships have grown, and with this, the demands of providing first class competition, arranging for sponsorship, organising for first class entertainment and hospitality along with many other ongoing tasks that has given the event a continuity that has been at the heart of it’s success.

Most enthusiasts realise that Toni also heads up the Organising Committee of the popular Sydney CDI and the two events combined constitute a very demanding full time job for the Event Director.

Julia Battams and Toni VenhausWhile no announcements have been made as yet, the Australian Dressage Championships will be hosted in another state for the next couple of years.

National Dressage Coach Julia Battams, presented Toni (pictured right) with a beautifull posy of flowers – a small token for a job so well done.

We all hope that Toni enjoys some down time, and thank her for the years of dedication and her passion for dressage.
